Our client is an expanding firm of chartered accountants based in North Leeds, seeking a committed Senior Accountant to join their team. If you’re an ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified accountant with 5+ years of practice experience and a knack for creative problem-solving, we want to hear from you!   • The Role: In this Senior Accountant role, you’ll be the go-to expert, bridging the gap between high-level strategic insight and day-to-day client needs. Your deep tax and accounts knowledge will be crucial in offering bespoke, practical advice that drives client success. You'll manage a dedicated team, oversee key departments, and play a pivotal role in our office, with a direct line to the partners.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and develop a team of eight staff members, ensuring optimal performance and professional growth.
    • Review and prepare accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, and bookkeeping for clients with turnovers between £500k and £15m.
    • Provide expert advice on tax implications for diverse sectors including healthcare, legal, and charitable organisations.
    • Oversee efficiency, budget adherence, and staff management within the firm.
    • Handle payroll, auto-enrolment issues, and tax queries from clients and HMRC.
    • Deliver training on accounting software and manage company secretarial tasks.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified with 8+ years of solid practice experience.
    • Expertise in tax and accounts preparation with a commercial mindset.
    • Proficiency in Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Moneysoft Payroll Manager.
    • Proven ability to manage and mentor junior staff, with a track record of driving practice development.
