You're a details person. You like systems, accuracy, and ticking things off the list. You get a weird sense of satisfaction from a balanced reconciliation and a properly coded invoice.
Employers and colleagues like that about you.
This East Leeds based business are hiring for an Accounts Assistant. They've got their fingers in a lot of pies, so you'll be working across multiple group companies. That means variety. It also means they need someone sharp who can juggle intercompany relationships without breaking a sweat.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Coding invoices and entering them on to the system (you'll want to be pretty fluent in "invoice-ese")
- Producing payment run schedules
- Setting up payments via online banking
- Posting payment journals on the accounting system
- Allocating payments and reconciling supplier statements
- Dealing with purchase ledger queries, because not everyone reads the invoice properly the first time
- Processing employee expenses and managing petty cash
- Picking up a bit of office admin - phones, diaries, greeting visitors, even organising the biscuits for meetings
The bonus bits: You'll also have the chance to broaden your skill set with exposure to things like bank reconciliations, sales invoicing, and VAT return assistance. So, if you're curious and keen, there's room to grow here.
The practical stuff:
- Annual salary of up to £27k
- 5 hours a week
- Two shift options: 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 (with a proper lunch break - no eating at your desk like a sad sandwich zombie)
What kind of person are they looking for?
- Someone organised and unflappable
- Someone who likes being the one others rely on
- Someone who can spot a £0.01 discrepancy from 50 paces
This isn't just about ticking boxes though. This team values real people with real personalities. You don't have to be flashy. You just have to care.
