Search Consultancy are partnering exclusively with a long standing client in Leeds City Centre, to recruit a Graduate Accounts Assistant for a commercial fast paced business. The role not only offers a clear progression path, you will be studying towards a professional accounting qualification and working towards the goal of becoming a Finance Manager in the future.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be involved in management accounting, as well as the incorporation of purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash book and loan schedules. You will maintain the accruals and prepayments and support in the preparation of management account reports including analysis of actual versus budget. You will prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns and issues invoices to customers. In addition you will support in the preparation of statutory accounts for the year end audit and liaise with he audit team during their fieldwork.
To be considered for this role you will:
- Hold a degree in Finance and Accountancy or STEM subjects (2:1 or 1st Classification desirable)
- Demonstrate a strong academic background
- Be looking to study towards a professional accounting qualification
- Be looking to progress your career in finance
- Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills to support effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Have excellent analytical skills
