Company Overview: We are a relatively new business, entering our third year, with a strong focus on growth and innovation. Our team includes specialists from various industries, particularly in the green energy sector. We offer a progressive environment and are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company.Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, particularly within an SME, and be able to handle a high volume of transactions. This role requires someone who can manage all aspects of bookkeeping and hit the ground running.Key Responsibilities:

  • VAT: Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Payroll: Handle the full end-to-end payroll process for 22 employees on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare debtor reports and management accounts.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • QuickBooks: Utilise QuickBooks for bookkeeping tasks, demonstrating strong proficiency and leadership in its use.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Banking: Handle all banking activities, including deposits, withdrawals, and bank reconciliations.
  • Expense Management: Track and manage company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and categorisation.
  • Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and recommendations for cost control.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare and support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in bookkeeping tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within an SME.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, payroll, and monthly reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Excellent reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • No formal qualifications required, but significant experience is essential.
