Trainee Accountant

Bookkeeping Apprentice job in Leeds, no experience required, paying between £15-20k

Bennett & Game are delighted to be representing one of Yorkshire's leading independent firms of Chartered Accountants, who, due to increased growth and demand, are looking to expand their team, onboarding a bookkeeping apprentice.

This role is well suited to school leavers, college leavers, university graduates, or people looking to transition their career into accounting. For the right candidate they are able to pay a starting salary of £15-20k, offering hybrid working, health benefits, company pension, free parking, and 25 days holiday.

The right candidate must be enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated, and passionate for accounting. Personality and interpersonal skills alongside a willingness to learn are most important for this position.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain on-the-job experience, in a progressive and forward-thinking environment, as well as enrolling in the AAT apprenticeship scheme.

• Bookkeeping and VAT returns for various size companies
• Maintaining financial records using spreadsheets and accounting software
• Contacting HMRC on behalf of clients
• Occasional payroll support
• Client Interaction - Communicate with clients to gather financial information and resolve basic queries
• Use of accounting software - Learn to use accounting software such, Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
• Administrative duties - Help with general office tasks
• Engage with on-the-job training - Working with managers and seniors to develop your skills, always being open and responsive to feedback and assistance

• 5 GCSE's grades 9 - 4 including Maths and English
• No previous experience is required
• Positive and hardworking attitude
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to be able to speak to clients to discuss queries and advice
• No requirement for VISA sponsorship
• Able to commute to Leeds
• UK Education

• £15,000 - £20,000 per annum
• Full time hours (potential for part time)
• 25 days' holiday, plus bank holidays
