Job Title: Quality Engineer

Salary: 33,000 - 40,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Shift: Day Shift

Role Overview:

As a Quality Engineer, you will lead the Quality Inspection departments, ensuring that all shop floor activities are supported with appropriate training and resources. Your key responsibilities will include investigating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), managing concession and deviation requests, resolving customer complaints, organizing customer witness inspections, liaising with customers and suppliers, and performing internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Quality Inspection department.
  • Investigate and address NCRs.
  • Handle concession and deviation requests.
  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Coordinate with the QA department on documentation issues.
  • Schedule and oversee customer witness inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct internal audits and develop/update operational procedures.
  • Create and update quality forms and documents.
  • Train inspectors and apprentices.
  • Review CAD drawings and new designs.
  • Maintain the calibration system.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required.

Key Relationships:

  • Build strong relationships within the department.
  • Maintain effective interactions with other departments across the organization.
  • Communicate clearly with employees at all levels.

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • High attention to detail and adherence to rigorous standards.
  • Experience with various measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role and company.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Epicor Vantage.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to remain effective under pressure with a positive attitude and commitment.
