An interesting opportunity is available for a Design Manager (with a structural engineering bias) to join a growing multi-disciplinary design and project coordination business who operate across the civil and structural design disciplines.
The role will be based from their South Leeds offices where they service both a national and regional client base across variety project sectors (including rail, infrastructure, bridges, water and some general civils project), where your primary responsibilities will be to take a lead on key aspects of design and manage principal projects, as well as having key input into the leadership of the design team.
The role would suit those either currently carrying out a similar role or those looking for the next step up in their career.
To be considered for this role you should fit the following spec;
- Have a proven track record of operating in a senior structural design engineer role, either from a consultancy or contractor environment.
- Cover the management and responsibility of technical queries and request for information.
- Being able to think methodically and to manage overall project management.
- Ability to liaise with professionals and supervise and lead drawing office staff.
- Ability to work well within a team and within a highly pressurised environment.
- Ability to interpret client requirements and communicate these requirements to others, whilst attending design meeting with the client and other stakeholders as required.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail
- Familiarity within the rail sector advantageous.
- Ability to support mentoring and training
