Role Overview:
In this position, you will either specialize as an Asbestos Analyst or take on a Dual Role as both an Analyst and Surveyor, depending on your experience and qualifications. You will be responsible for conducting air monitoring, asbestos surveys, and sampling, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and delivering high-quality reports. Your role will be crucial in maintaining health and safety standards across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asbestos Analyst Responsibilities:
    • Conduct air testing and fibre counting (four-stage clearance, background, leak, and personal monitoring).
    • Analyse samples.
    • Provide detailed reports on air monitoring results and advise clients on remedial actions.
    • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project managers to provide professional and accurate service.
  • Dual Role Responsibilities (Surveyor & Analyst):
    • Carry out asbestos surveys (Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition) on mainly commercial buildings but some domestic.
    • Conduct bulk sampling for asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and submit samples for analysis.
    • Perform air monitoring and four-stage clearances.
    • Prepare and deliver comprehensive survey and air monitoring reports.
    • Assist clients in understanding survey outcomes and ensuring asbestos risks are managed effectively.

Key Requirements:

  • P403 and P404 qualifications (or RSPH equivalent) are essential. P402 qualification is required for the Dual Role.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in asbestos air monitoring, surveying, or both.
  • Strong knowledge of current asbestos legislation and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving license is essential.
  • Experienced in four stage clearance, in surveying.
  • Familiar with capturing data on Alpha Tracker or similar apps.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.
