Information about the Role:

As a Support Service Manager at Waterloo Manor Hospital you will be responsible for the management of Catering, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Administration. The main duties of your role will be:

  • To organise and oversee the non-clinical daily operations of the Hospital.
  • Responsible for coordinating the functions of the non-clinical teams to ensure standards are met and the highest quality services are delivered achieving maximum efficiency whilst maintaining a safe environment for patients, external professionals, visitors and staff.
  • Enhancing the experience of all people using the Hospital.
  • Produce, manage and maintain the rota’s for each department for which the post is responsible in a timely manner, checking planned absences are covered and unplanned are managed to ensure continuity and consistency of service.
  • Oversea the recruitment, induction and training of staff to the departments in all aspects of their work in each location.
  • Ensure timely appraisals, supervision, probation reviews and performance management of staff in each department ensuring the required documentation is completed correctly and any follow up actions are dealt with
  • Ensure staff teams maintain the safety of the hospital, staff, visitors and patients through adherence to policies and local protocols affecting the departments at all times (including keys, radios, alarms, fire, patient access etc)

Information about the Service:

The service is gender specific, working with women who have complex mental health issues. Waterloo Manor is the largest female Personality Disorder service in the United Kingdon that provides assessment and treatment services for women with complex mental health & disorders. The Hospital provides both low secure and rehabilitation services.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Knowledge and experience of working within the structure of a hospital setting
  • Previous line managerial responsibilities- ability to manage and develop a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of external stakeholders and ability to develop and maintain sustainable relationships.
  • Significant knowledge and understand of working within the Care Quality Commission framework and Mental Heath Act Code of Practice.
  • Ability to work well within a team and build interpersonal relationships.
  • Driving Licence
