Development Chemist

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Chemist at a chemical manufacturer in the West Yorkshire area. As the Development Chemist you will be responsible for developing new products whilst planning your own experiments. You will also be responsible for scaling up your formulations and screening new raw materials from suppliers.

To be considered for the Development Chemist opportunity you will be degree educated in Chemistry or a relevant field - a focus on Polymer Science is highly desirable. You will also have at least 2 years' experience in formulating and developing chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new products.
  • Scale up formulations.
  • Test raw materials in existing formulations.
  • Work closely with production and sales to drive products to the market.
  • Produce weekly reports on projects.
  • Conduct QC in production batches.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Chemistry or a relevant field.
  • Previous experience formulating chemicals.
  • Knowledge of polymers is desired.
  • Knowledge of regulations would be useful.
