Nurse Seekers a proud to be recruiting a Third in Charge on behalf of a fantastic quality Nursery based near Horsforth, Leeds. The successful candidate must be energetic, willing to take charge and a passionate individual with a real passion for childcare and want to work with children to fulfil their greatest potential!

Key Responsibilities

  • To work under the direction of the Manager and Deputy Manager and deputise for the Deputy Manager if required.
  • Direct and support the staff team as agreed with the Manager and implementing high standards of quality practices within the nursery.
  • To establish daily routines that encourage independence for the children in line with best practise
  • To implement EYFS and any other legal and statutory frameworks
  • To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures, and the staff code of conduct.
  • To undertake any duties set by the management team that will assist in the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Motivate and lead a team.
  • To support the aims and objectives of the nursery and to achieve a high standard of education and care for children from 3 months to 5 years
  • Work in partnership with Parent/Carers and staff to ensure a high standard of care and education.
  • To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and children/colleague wellbeing.
  • To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.
  • Be responsible for implementing and monitoring systems of observation to enable children's progress and achievements to be regularly and effectively assessed and recorded.
  • Support and contribute to staff meetings and Inset Days
  • To assist with staff development and training.

Essentials

  • Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent in childcare.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience within a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner role.
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in the written and spoken English language.
  • Extensive knowledge of EYFS and act in accordance with current legal and statutory frameworks, policies and procedures.
