The Role
I am currently working with a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Due to a strong pipeline of work within the water sector they are currently looking for a Principal Civil Engineer with water experience to join their team in their Leeds office.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will work on exciting projects with major water companies across the UK and Ireland, contributing to delivering AMP8 projects in Yorkshire and providing outline to a large range of projects across Clean/Waste Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure programmes. You'll be delivering on AMP8 projects in Yorkshire but it will also offer the opportunity to work across the whole of the UK, Ireland and globally. Reducing environmental footprints, improving social impact, and contributing to sustainable infrastructure that adapts to climate change.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work across a project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design.
  • Work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and networks, wastewater treatment, wastewater networks, flooding, and urban drainage.
  • You’ll be responsible for the project’s civil engineering design.
  • Lead the civil engineering team on projects and work alongside our overall project design leads to ensure successful project delivery.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive design experience in the UK water industry.
  • Educated to a degree level in Civil Engineering
  • Ideally hold Chartered status with a relevant professional body (ICE or CIWEM).
  • Experience delivering community focused projects.
  • Experience of working in a client facing role
