I am actively seeking a skilled and confident Senior Civil Engineer to join a successful and busy Multidisciplinary Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading private engineering consultancies, delivering a variety of projects across the retail, residential, commercial, leisure, education, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities for this Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Lead and manage the Civils Team on projects of varying scale, from small developments to large retail and residential schemes.
  • Design infrastructure for a wide range of sectors, including residential, retail, commercial, education, and industrial, focusing on underground drainage systems and roads to adoptable standards.
  • Collaborate with statutory bodies such as Water Companies, the Environmental Agency, and County Roads Departments.
  • Proficiently use relevant technical analysis and design software, including AutoCAD, and ideally Civils 3D.
  • Ensure the team maintains high standards of quality and consistency in technical outputs, such as drawings and reports.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance and support to their professional development.
  • Attend design and site meetings, conduct site inspections, and contribute to project progress.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on civil engineering matters.
  • Manage projects in alignment with agreed budgets and timelines.

Qualifications & Experience for this Senior Civil Engineer:

  • A degree in Civil & Structural Engineering is essential.
  • Working towards Chartership or already achieved Chartered status is highly advantageous.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in civil engineering design, particularly in infrastructure for the built environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
