Our client is a large Civil Engineering Sub Contractor who specialise within RC Frames, Underground Structures, Geotechnical Engineering and Tunnelling with a £114 Million turnover. The Senior Design Engineer will be working on an exciting range of projects within the industry.

The Senior Design Engineer, will be involved in the initial concept, design, development and management of projects. The Senior Design Engineerwill have a strong technical knowledge, as well as problem solving, communication, and project management skills.

Senior Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects or components
  • Summarise scientific and engineering principles in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Write technical reports to summarise findings
  • Develop the concept, specification, tender and development of new projects or components
  • Develop the design and define the technical specifications for temporary and permanent works designs
  • Identify and execute the unique project BIM requirements
  • Undertake design drafting utilising Autodesk CAD3D, 2D and Civils 3D to produce high quality drawings drafting and 3d model visualisation
  • Identify new systems and processes to improve quality and efficiency and save costs
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, contractors and suppliers to identify their and the projects' requirements
  • Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget
Senior Design Engineer Position Requirements
  • 5 + years' experience within structures / temporary works / Geotechnical engineering
  • 3 years' experience working at a Senior Level
  • High level of technical skill
  • Ability to help support, mentor and develop junior members within the team
  • Sound knowledge with CDM H&S regulations.
  • Analytical and numeracy skills
  • Project management skills.
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of Autodesk CAD3D, 2D and Civils 3D
  • Excellent written English language and grammar

Senior Design Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Salary: £45k - £60k DOE
  • 23 day's holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays
