A fantastic opportunity near York has presented itself for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join an expanding ground engineering consultancy. The selected candidate will be provided with the resources and support to take on new responsibilities, develop skills and lead a team through technically challenging projects.
The Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer selected will be involved in a range of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects. You'll be designing geotechnical structures including retaining walls, slopes, foundations and infrastructure, carrying out Desktop studies, scoping and (at times) overseeing ground investigations and mentoring junior members of the team. The position also requires business development responsibilities including client networking and liaison, bidding and tendering and building a team.

To be considered for the Geotechnical Design Engineer position you should therefore have experience as a Geotechnical Design Engineer, with a strong understanding of soil mechanics and experience using software's such as AutoCAD, Excel, Alp, Oasys Pile and WALLAP. You must also have a degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering (with a geotechnical focus) or similar (MSc preferred). Have a full and clean UK Driving Licence, live in or near to York and have a full right to work in the UK.
