Our Client who operate as a National Civil Engineering Contractor are seeking to appoint a Staff Site Engineer to cover site engineering duties on Water Projects across the Yorkshire Region. Right to work in the UK needs to already held.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Accountability and Responsibilities
- Offering technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives
- Overseeing building work and ensuring the quality of the work
- Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
- Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent
- Produce site diaries and allocation sheets
- Production of ITP check sheets in line with the ITP and specification
- Ensuring the plans, drawings and quantities are accurate for calculations
- Supervising site security, health and safety
- Organising and overseeing material and human resources
- Managing the design documents supplied by the client
- Planning the work efficiently and adapting to any setbacks or difficulties
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
- Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free
Collaborative Working
- To work collaboratively with the client and wider project delivery team ensuring effective and timely communications, proactively managing the expectations of the client
Key Measures and Targets
- Accurate and timely setting out of works
- Timely handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects
- Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly diaries
Person Specification:
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential
- Experience setting out on Civil Engineering projects
- Knowledge of construction methods, Health and safety and legal regulations
- Specific experience with drainage, earthworks, structures and water
- CSCS Card
- Cable avoidance training
- Self-driven, results oriented with a positive outlook
- Able to communicate well at all levels
Desirable
- Have some experience with AutoCAD
- Temporary works Co-ordination
- Degree qualified in civil engineering or HNC or equivalent in civil engineering as a minimum
- NEBOSH or IOSH
