Overview:

Our client is a leading multidisciplinary design consultancy based in Leeds, seeking a motivated and experienced Low Carbon Consultant / Energy Assessor to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in helping their clients reduce their carbon footprint and achieve sustainability goals by providing expert advice on energy assessments, low carbon strategies, and building performance. You will work on a wide range of projects, from commercial buildings to residential developments, and collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy Assessments: Conduct detailed energy assessments for buildings, to evaluate the energy performance and carbon emissions of existing and proposed buildings.

  • Low Carbon Strategies: Advise clients on the implementation of low carbon strategies, including renewable energy solutions, energy efficiency measures, and sustainable building technologies.

  • Building Performance Modelling: Use software tools (IES) to model building energy performance and provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with the latest legislation, regulations, and standards related to energy, carbon, and sustainability in the built environment.

  • Report Writing: Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and accurate reports, presentations, and technical documents for clients, including recommendations for energy savings, carbon reductions, and sustainability improvements.



Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications:

    • Degree in Energy, Environmental Science, Sustainable Design, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Registered Non-Domestic Energy Assessor.
    • Level 5 IES Energy Assessor - Proficient User.
    • CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience in a similar energy consultancy or sustainability role, ideally within a multidisciplinary practice.
    • Strong understanding of low carbon technologies, building performance, and energy efficiency measures.
    • Experience working on commercial and residential projects is an advantage.
