Bennett and Game are working with a leading groundworks and remediation contractor based near Leeds, delivering construction projects ranging from £100,000 to £20 million. The successful candidate will join a growing and motivated team that shares the company's vision and goals.

Estimating & Cost Analysis

  • Produce detailed and precise cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including remediation, groundworks, drainage, and infrastructure.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and relevant documentation to determine labour, plant, and material costs, ensuring an accurate and comprehensive programme.
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to guarantee alignment with project requirements and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying potential challenges and opportunities. Provide risk mitigation strategies and value engineering recommendations as required.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the estimating process, addressing queries and presenting proposals.
  • Maintain strong client relationships following proposal submissions, gaining insight into project constraints and positioning our offering accordingly.
  • Lead the contract handover process upon project award, ensuring a seamless transition by briefing the Operations Team on project specifics.

Senior Estimator Job Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of civil engineering and groundworks for residential and industrial development sites, from site investigation through to infrastructure works.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in an estimating role within the civil engineering or groundworks sector.
  • Strong expertise in civil engineering processes, materials, and cost structures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with take-off/measuring software and project management tools.
