Snowdon Recruitment are working with a market leading Electrical company who are looking for a Commissioning Electrician to join their Electrical team.

Specialising in the commissioning of electrical installations, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient commissioning and functionality testing of pumping systems, while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations and project timelines. This role demands excellent documentation skills, clear communication with clients, and thorough system functionality testing.

Key Responsibilities for the Commissioning Electrician:

  • Carry out commissioning tasks for pump system installations, including, but not limited to, level controllers, flow meters, inverters, control valves, generators, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Accurately document commissioning procedures, system configurations, and parameters in electrical commissioning reports and on the internal intranet, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information for future projects.
  • Conduct functional testing of pumping systems to confirm proper operation and ensure compliance with manufacturer and company specifications.
  • Work in collaboration with various teams and departments to address installation challenges or discrepancies, guiding electricians on correct working practices to avoid recurring issues.
  • Provide a detailed handover to customers, which includes safe system operation instructions, on-site training, and delivery of relevant documentation and commissioning packs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control system issues to consistently meet customer requirements.

Essential Qualifications Required for the Commissioning Electrician Job:

  • C&G 2382 - 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • C&G 2391 - Inspection, Testing & Certification.
  • JIB Registered (ECS Card holder).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • NVQ Level 3 (minimum).
  • ECS Card to installer level.

Essential Experience Required For The Commissioning Electrician Job:

  • Previous experience in an electrical commissioning role.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings, with the ability to convert written information into practical solutions and functional equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a supportive and growth-oriented environment that encourages continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, controllers, and instrumentation.
  • Practical experience with 3-phase systems.
  • Capable of preparing commissioning reports, documenting procedures, and recording test results, with the ability to tailor information for both internal and external stakeholders, using suitable methods to effectively convey key details.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with colleagues and clients.
  • Hands-on experience with a range of pumping system manufacturers or brands.
