Assistant Pre-Construction Manager, Salary: Up to £39k + excellent benefits, Hybrid working – Leeds office / home based

We require an Assistant Pre-Construction Manager to work for a leading construction company who specialise in off-site construction / modular building solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in an Assistant Pre-Construction Manager role, managing and administrating bid/pre-construction activities for large, multi-million-pound projects. Skilled in the control, management and communication of bid and preconstruction documentation.

The role:

  • Pre-construction Support: Assist bid and pre-construction managers throughout the tender and PCSA phases by maintaining accurate records, managing document flow, and ensuring effective team communication.
  • Bid Development: Contribute to the creation of bid response templates, presentation materials, and other marketing assets that enhance project bids. Assist with Contractor’s Proposals in collaboration with the bid team as needed.
  • Documentation and Process Management: Manage project records within Common Data Environments (e.g., Viewpoint), control and distribute client-, consultant- and contractor-issued documentation, attend meetings, take minutes, and ensure all relevant documents are stored appropriately. Chair internal progress meetings and produce internal/external presentations as required.
  • Client and Team Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for internal colleagues, external consultants, clients and project teams during project development, facilitating smooth administration and communication, and supporting a first-class customer experience.
  • Risk and Value Management: Support the pre-construction manager in applying value and risk management across projects. Maintain project risk & opportunity registers and provide documentation for senior management review.
  • Programme Coordination: Support the planning and design integration by liaising with internal departments (Planning, Delivery, Estimating, and Design) and external consultants to develop robust project programmes whilst managing multiple workstreams.

Assistant Pre-Construction Manager Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in an Assistant Pre-Construction Manager role, managing and administrating bid/pre-construction activities for large, multi-million-pound projects. Skilled in the control, management and communication of bid and preconstruction documentation.
  • A strong communicator with excellent organisational and administration skills, and a resilient, proactive approach. Able to work independently and collaboratively, with the confidence to challenge standard practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Office Suite, Common Data Environments (Viewpoint), and knowledge of planning software (MSP/ASTA) and of NEC3, NEC4, and JCT contracts.
  • Desirable qualifications include a Degree/HNC in a building-related subject and a CSCS card. CDM qualifications and BSA awareness beneficial (training provided).
  • Hybrid: office-based / home working. Occasional travel to client sites, manufacturing locations, and meetings as required by the Work Winning team.
