JE141:Lead Design Coordinator Location: LeedsSalary: £50,000 Per annum Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Lead Design Coordinator on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities:
- To comply with company procedures and work instructions, guide notes and other information that forms part of the quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems.
- To develop a Design Budget with the Project Manager, and to develop the following documentation.
- Contract Financial Reporting (CFR) for design budget
- Design Deliverable List
- Develop Design Management Plan – incl. Design for Manufacturer (DfMA), use of standard designs.
- Help develop and close out Designers Risk Assessments (DRA) on designs in a timely manner.
- Issue AFC documentation for construction.
- Review drawings for as built construction.
- Ensure all design and documentation is logged on EPDM correctly
- Collate all necessary design information for Health & Safety file.
- To ensure all design meets with the necessary client specifications and any national standards.
- Carry out and implement Technical governance at the beginning of all projects.
- Ensuring all design risk are captured from the client and mitigate
- Hold Challenge workshops at commencement of project, and at completion of outline design.
- Ensure all responsibilities of the Principal Designers role are carried out in a timely manner.
- Submit designs to client for review.
- Review Particular Specifications (PS) to ensure minimum required information is submitted for procurement.
- Expediting and reviewing subcontractor designs. Submit to technical specialist for comments, in a timely manner
- Attend Design Review Meetings with client
- To attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if necessary to ensure S/C designs are compliant.
- To communicate fully with the Project Manager/Engineer, other members of the team, other departments and section of the company, the Client, vendors, and sub-contractors on matters relating to the project.
- To assist in the production, tracking and reporting of the project programme.
- To fully participate in the development of procedures and systems for use within the Engineering department.
- To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications:
- HNC/D in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering or equivalent level qualification
- Process Safety/Hazard Management
- CDM Regulations 2015 (for Designers preferred)
- Demonstrable experience commensurate to the level of the role, preferably within the water/wastewater industry or other relevant sector
- Experience in working within a design and build environment.
- IT literate with an ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office
