Title: Project Manager (Solar PV)

Overview:
We are currently working with a UK based company who specialise in the development and installation of commercial renewable energy systems, with over 40 years of experience, they are offer bespoke solutions to help business reduce carbon emission and energy costings.
Due to increased growth they are seeking a Project Manager to join their facility in Leeds, this will be their primary designer at the site and will play an important role in achieving a zero-carbon future.
About the Role:
The role will report to the CEO, the Project Manager has the responsibility and ownership of oversee the installation and delivery of commercial and residential renewable energy system installations, including EV charging and solar PV systems, ranging in complexity, scale and value, and would suit someone with an electrical bias, and would suit someone who has relevant experience working within commercial Solar PV, Energy Efficiency and an operational/project management type role.
An Electrical contracting experience will be well regarded as well an HSE qualification (SMSTS, IOSH)
Problem-solving needs to be something you enjoy and are good at. A strong drive to deliver on time, on budget, and on quality is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Liaising with suppliers, site staff and installation teams
- Solar PV / Electrical contracting installations - average of 1MW roof top and 5MW ground mounted.
- Planning and scheduling installation & maintenance works
- Ensure material and contractual delivery are achieved on time
- Attend site pre-installation technical and costing surveys
- Specification and procurement of materials and equipment
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), observance of CDM regulations.
- Record keeping on the company's CRM and Project information systems
- Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are up to date and installation team are regularly briefed through tool box talks
- Maintaining documentation accurately and updating QMS
- Developing good working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Other duties as required
- To be considered for this position, you should have relevant experience working in commercial Solar PV and Energy Efficiency industry whilst within an operational/project management type role.
- Electrical contracting experience, or a degree in electrical engineering or renewable engineer will be well regarded as will a HSE qualification.
- You will be a confident communicator with strong IT skills and a full UK driving licence.
- You will thrive in a busy work environment, enjoy working collaboratively and a pro at multi-tasking.
Requirements:
- Previous experience delivering roof mounted and ground mounted Solar PV projects.
- Battery storage modelling experience.
- HV/LV connection knowledge (ideally with DNO background)
- Engineering technical excellence and pride in work / project outcomes.
- Strong Project Management skills, ensuring optimal design and costs on all projects.
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing commercial-scale solar PV projects and teams, in addition to managing UK DNO G99 & G100 requirements and conditions.
- Ability to interpret PV and electrical designs.
