Work alongside the Finance Director and Group Head of Assurance to develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework and reporting capability embedding key risk indicators, identifying emerging risks and preparing mitigation plans for risks falling outside of risk appetite

Description
The successful Risk Manager will be responsible for;
- Build cross-functional relationships and provide relevant information to support the activities of the Group Head of Assurance and Chair of Risk Committee in delivering the Committee material - this will include preparation of reports, presentations, dashboards, risk intelligence and analysis,
- Manage and maintain risk registers (including mapping of key project risks into a consolidated Business Unit view) and, furthermore, guiding risk owners across on defining risk causes, events and impacts, assessing the likelihood and impact of the risks and developing appropriate response. Supporting 2nd line assurance activity with risk analysis where appropriate,
- Work with Finance Director to design and embed an appropriate governance framework for the Board, including designing board agendas, appropriate governance forums and committees and delivering appropriate documentation to record governance activity and follow-up on actions,
- Proactive stakeholder engagement encompassing Group and stakeholders on all aspects of risk identification, management and best practice (incl. lessons learnt).
Profile
A successful Risk Manager should have:
- Relevant risk management experience (3yrs minimum) ideally in a construction/major projects sector,
- Technically minded individual with a detailed understanding of risk methodologies, mitigation processes and techniques within a corporate environment,
- Some exposure to ESG-oriented work environments would be an advantage,
- Relevant educational qualifications in risk management or a related field,
- Proven experience in risk management within the Construction/Engineering industry,
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices,
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
