Madisons Recruitment are recruiting for a Passive Fire Protection Site Manager on a permanent basis located in Leeds.
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of projects, managing on-site teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of passive fire protection projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety protocols.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant fire protection regulations, British Standards, and building codes, including maintaining up-to-date records of fire protection installations.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure that it meets the required specifications and standards of passive fire protection.
- Implement and enforce site health and safety policies, conducting regular risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing any issues or concerns, and providing progress updates as required.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, site diaries, and reports on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Identify and address any potential issues or delays on-site, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
- Identify opportunities for improving processes, quality, and efficiency on site.
Requirements
- An NVQ in passive fire (preferable).
- A valid UK driving license is required.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, particularly in passive fire protection or related fields (e.g., construction, fire safety).
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection methods, products, and relevant regulations (e.g., BS 9999, BS 476, etc.).
- Relevant certifications in fire protection (e.g., FIRAS, IFC) are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, with a thorough understanding of construction site safety practices.
