Dovetail and Slate are working with a leading FE College in Yorkshire to recruit a Head of Digital Industries, responsible for shaping and expanding the college's Digital and IT provision across a range of pathways, including 14-16, 16-19, Adult Learning, and Apprenticeships. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a department at the forefront of digital education and ensure that students are equipped with the skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.



The Role

As Head of Digital Industries, you will:

  • Develop and lead a high-quality, industry-aligned curriculum that meets local, regional, and national needs.
  • Grow and expand the department, positioning it as a centre of excellence for digital skills in the North.
  • Work closely with employers and industry bodies to shape the provision and enhance opportunities for learners.
  • Drive student recruitment, achievement, and progression by creating an inspiring and inclusive learning environment.
  • Lead and manage a team of dedicated educators, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Utilise sector expertise to inform strategic decisions and future-proof the curriculum.


Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering high-quality education across the following key digital areas:

  • Computer Games
  • Media Skills
  • Coding
  • Cyber Security
  • Computer Science
  • Digital Production and Design

You'll have a strong background in Digital or IT education within an FE setting, and a proven track record in curriculum development, employer engagement, and apprenticeships. You should also be able to demonstrate success in improving student outcomes and creating high-quality, engaging learning experiences.
