Learning & Development Officer/Co-Ordinator

My Client is looking for a Learning and Development Officer/Co-Ordinator to join their team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of professional growth across the firm. You’ll have to collaborate with colleagues across all departments to design and deliver innovative learning initiatives aligned with the firm’s strategic goals. Autonomy is encouraged, but you will receive support from the Learning and Development Lead, particularly in the early stages of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging training content to support colleagues across all departments, both in-person and virtually.
  • Proactively conduct learning needs analyses to identify gaps and opportunities, ensuring our training solutions are tailored to the evolving needs of the firm
  • Lead interactive workshops (face-to-face and virtual) to foster learning and development across the firm
  • Oversee the management of content on our Kallidus Learning Management System ("Learn"), ensuring it’s up-to-date, tracking user engagement, compliance, and impact evaluation
  • Partner with key departments, including project management, HR, recruitment, IT, and fee-earning departments, to create continuous learning opportunities
  • Measure the impact of training initiatives using LMS analytics, surveys, and stakeholder feedback. Continuously refine programs to improve their effectiveness
  • Be available to travel between offices (Leeds, Sheffield) as required, with the flexibility to work remotely after an initial in-office period

Key Skills and Experience

  • A proactive, self-starter who enjoys managing their own schedule while meeting their responsibilities independently
  • Passionate about creating a positive learning culture and eager to influence the firm’s overall L&D strategy
  • Able to work proactively identify learning opportunities and create innovative solutions to support the firm's goals
  • Demonstrable experience in a Learning and Development role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for helping others succeed
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Kallidus preferred but not essential), content creation, and basic troubleshooting. Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) is an advantage
  • Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot or large language models, and the ability to support their use in enhancing learning processes, is a strong advantage
  • High level of mindfulness and emotional intelligence to navigate different learning preferences and workplace dynamics
