Contract Business Analyst - West Yorkshire - Outside IR35

I have an exciting opportunity based in West Yorkshire in the Financial Services sector where my client is looking for a skilled Business Analyst on a contract basis.

Description of Role

The Business Analyst will manage business analysis activities for the Data and Reporting Domain. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a bridge between the business and data engineers to produce requirements for reporting and data feeds.
  • Working closely with the solution architect to maintain technical documentation related to data storage and transformations.
  • Collaborating with the BA community of practice to ensure alignment of dependencies and requirements.
  • Data literacy and the ability to derive insights from reporting are critical.
  • Building data pipelines, ingesting data from the new ecosystem into the Microsoft Azure modern data platform, and consolidating into existing data marts for downstream reporting, analytics, and modelling processes.
  • Working on a Microsoft Azure modern data platform
  • Working in a SAFE Agile methodology

? Contract length: 6 months initially, with a high likelihood of extensions

Description of Role

The Business Analyst will manage business analysis activities for the Data and Reporting Domain. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a bridge between the business and data engineers to produce requirements for reporting and data feeds.
  • Working closely with the solution architect to maintain technical documentation related to data storage and transformations.
  • Collaborating with the BA community of practice to ensure alignment of dependencies and requirements.
  • Data literacy and the ability to derive insights from reporting are critical.
  • Building data pipelines, ingesting data from the new ecosystem into the Microsoft Azure modern data platform, and consolidating into existing data marts for downstream reporting, analytics, and modelling processes.

  • Define ETL requirements and processes and legacy data systems.
  • Documented business use cases for data ETL and Power BI reports.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficient in analysing complex data sets and identifying insights using Power BI. Experienced in utilizing Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and integrating AI tools for enhanced data processing and reporting.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Essential experience in having worked on large scale Data Transformation
  • Have clear evidence of working on similar roles as explained in the 'Description of the role'.
