Reed is recruiting on behalf of a Legal provider based in Leeds city centre, our client is seeking a Debt Recovery Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their legal career within a full debt recovery solutions-focused environment. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of clients and debts across various sectors, from pre-legal stages through to litigation, enforcement, and insolvency proceedings.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Build rapport with clients on commercial debt portfolios and negotiate fair, affordable repayment solutions.
  • Take full ownership of your workload and designated clients, with a focus on client management, including reviews and strategy sessions.
  • Bring in fees to assist the department in hitting its billing targets.
  • Actively promote the firm’s brand, both with existing clients and externally, attending events when required.
  • Contribute to system and procedural changes to enhance efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous debt recovery experience or customer service experience with a comprehensive understanding of the debt recovery process.
  • Confident and positive with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in making both inbound and outbound calls.
  • Strong drafting skills for letters and pleadings.
  • Computer literacy and flexibility to adapt to different client and debtor requests.
  • Empathy and understanding of client needs, with a passion for client service.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work to targets and understand KPIs in a competitive environment.
  • Commitment to delivering great results for clients and the business.
