A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in South Leeds. This long-term position will see you play a key role in supporting the nursery class and helping children thrive in their early years education. If you are a dedicated, proactive individual who can lead when needed and handle challenging behavior with confidence, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in the day-to-day running of the nursery class.
  • Leading intervention groups to support children's development and learning needs.
  • Carrying out observations on children to track progress and assist in individual planning.
  • Assisting with planning and teaching activities that engage and stimulate children's learning.
  • Setting up activities and replenishing resources to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Supporting children with challenging behavior, ensuring a positive and nurturing approach.
  • Leading the class effectively in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining a calm and productive environment.

We Are Looking For:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working within an Early Years setting (preferably in a school environment).
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • The ability to lead and manage the class effectively when the class teacher is absent.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behavior with a calm and consistent approach.
  • A proactive and flexible team player who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
