Join our team as a SEND Teaching Assistant in the Leeds LS23 area, working within a specialist setting. This full-time position offers standard hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children and young people with complex learning and behavioural needs, ensuring their engagement and participation in educational activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to deliver comprehensive support and interventions.
  • Support students in developing social skills, independence, and confidence, fostering their overall growth and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with complex learning and behavioural needs.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions to support academic and social development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Should be eligible to work in the UK without any Sponsorship.
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
