Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (key stage 3 and 4)Location: LeedsContract Type: Full-time, Temporary/Permanent opportunities availableSalary: £95 to £125 per day
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant at Veritas Education, you will be working closely with students who have a range of SEND, these can range from complex physical needs to Neurological disorders and behavioural issues including ADHD and SEMH. You will be providing tailored support to help them succeed in their learning journey. Your role will involve:
- Assisting students with their academic work in a classroom setting including managing EHCP's.
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs on a one-to-one basis.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development through scaffolding techniques.
- Working with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Building strong relationships with students to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a SEND setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students.
- A willingness to adapt to the needs of each student.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive and flexible attitude to teaching and learning.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
