We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 class in a welcoming primary school in the Leeds LS4 area. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils during lessons, helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to support literacy, numeracy, and other key skills.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN and behavioural challenges, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Help prepare and organise classroom resources and materials, supporting the teacher with lesson delivery.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and help pupils develop emotional resilience and problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher, contributing to individual learning plans.

Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of the national Key Stage Curriculum.
  • Familiarity with diverse teaching approaches suitable for every child.
  • Solid comprehension of child development and the learning process.
  • Exhibit effective listening and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to building positive children relationships and addressing their requirements.
  • Capable of offering individualised attention, encouragement, and learning support.
  • Possess an Enhanced DBS check or willing to obtain one through Randstad.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
