Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with commercial terms and conditions.
- Support the tracking of project costs, budgets, and expenditures. Assist in the analysis of cost performance and provide reports to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Communicate with suppliers and clients to manage purchase orders, contract negotiations, and ensure timely payments and receipts.
- Maintain up-to-date records and assist in preparing financial and commercial reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Assist the procurement team in sourcing materials and services required for rail projects, including preparing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.
- Help identify potential commercial risks and propose strategies to mitigate them. Ensure that project risks are managed in line with company policies.
- Support the processing of supplier invoices and ensure that payments are made in line with contractual terms.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the finance department to ensure all commercial activities align with project objectives.
- Ensure that all commercial processes adhere to industry regulations, legal requirements, and company standards.
Required Skills:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with project management software and financial systems is advantageous.
- Experience or knowledge of the UK rail industry, including understanding of Network Rail and its suppliers.
- Familiarity with rail safety standards and compliance requirements.
