Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation with a commitment to excellence in their industry are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team and contribute to the maintenance and repair of their production machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general proactive and reactive maintenance duties to minimise downtime.
  • Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead, offering solutions.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolution activities.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain regular communication with the machine foreman and other team leaders to address any relevant issues.
  • Complete routine maintenance schedules according to the maintenance plan.
  • Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties.
  • Install electrical components as required.
  • Follow cleanliness standards and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in production lines, machinery, and operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation.
  • Stay updated with knowledge and advancements in the field.
  • Conduct electrical tests and diagnostic checks.
  • Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
  • Time served Electrical engineer or City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering including 17th Edition.
  • Strong problem analysis and fault-finding skills, with the ability to read schematic diagrams.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical control systems.
  • Proficient in PLC fault finding.
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
