Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation with a commitment to excellence in their industry are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team and contribute to the maintenance and repair of their production machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general proactive and reactive maintenance duties to minimise downtime.
- Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead, offering solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolution activities.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Maintain regular communication with the machine foreman and other team leaders to address any relevant issues.
- Complete routine maintenance schedules according to the maintenance plan.
- Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties.
- Install electrical components as required.
- Follow cleanliness standards and maintain a safe work environment.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in production lines, machinery, and operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation.
- Stay updated with knowledge and advancements in the field.
- Conduct electrical tests and diagnostic checks.
- Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Time served Electrical engineer or City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering including 17th Edition.
- Strong problem analysis and fault-finding skills, with the ability to read schematic diagrams.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical control systems.
- Proficient in PLC fault finding.
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
