Job Role: Junior to Intermediate M&E Project Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + package
Location: Leeds
We are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity on behalf of a growing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company. Our client works in a range of industrial sectors, including water treatment, energy from waste, chemical processing, and manufacturing. They focus on designing, installing, testing, and commissioning process-driven projects.
As their workload increases, they are looking for a Junior to Intermediate Electrical Project Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills and take on more responsibility in a dynamic environment. You will get to work on different tasks as projects move through various stages of delivery.
About the role:
- Support Project Engineering and Project Management tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in reading and interpreting P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams.
- Help with electrical installation design using Autodesk 2D.
- Participate in the preparation of electrical design schedules, including load, instrument, and drive information.
- Learn to work with AMTECH cable models.
- Assist with preparing Motor Control Centre (MCC) schedules.
- Help with developing Software User Requirement Specifications (URS).
- Support in carrying out Risk Assessments
- Assist with subcontractor procurement and monitoring their performance.
- Help ensure quality assurance of subcontractor design deliverables.
About you:
- Ideally, you will have some experience or understanding of industrial process engineering, manufacturing, or mechanical systems (such as fluid control or pumping system hydraulics), but this is not essential.
- A qualification in engineering, such as ONC, HNC, HND, or NVQ3 in a related field is desirable. Relevant practical experience will also be considered.
- Willingness to learn and grow into a more customer-facing and project management role.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and design processes is beneficial, but training will be provided.
