About the Role

Join our Energy Infrastructure Solutions team, where we design, build, and operate cutting-edge energy solutions for industrial and commercial clients. From efficient lighting to Solar PV, multi-MW CHP, and energy storage, we help customers achieve their Net Zero goals.

As a Solar PV Technical Design Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, specifying, and commissioning commercial and industrial Solar PV installations. Collaborating with Sales, Development, Engineers, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams, you'll ensure the delivery of top-tier system designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of Solar PV systems, including shading analysis, 3D modelling, electrical diagrams, and connection layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Optimize PV system performance through computer simulations.
  • Review and approve designs, making technical recommendations to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to select components for PV projects.
  • Effectively communicate system designs to clients and stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to meet client needs and project deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety standards and develop new processes as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in designing both rooftop and ground-mounted PV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PV components and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in software tools like MS Office, AutoCAD, PV*SOL/PVSyst, and the ability to learn new tools.
  • Understanding of HSSE regulations and experience in CDM responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of DNO G99 applications.
  • Full UK/EU driving license.

Desired Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (Degree/HNC or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with LV and HV electrical works related to PV projects.
  • A strong understanding of the commercial impact of engineering activities.
