GPS Recruitment have a new position with a leader in the lighting industry supplying bespoke system solutions across a range of sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and heritage sites

We are looking to speak with an Experienced Electrical Technician to provide expert guidance to Production in the form of wiring diagrams and demonstration. This role is in place as the point of reference for Best Practice in wiring and testing across the business.

Full training will be on hand regarding company software systems and other aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Weekly random inspection of finished products made by Production. Includes reporting and feedback of any errors found in a professional manner.
  • Product Design: Specify electronic components that deliver the functionality for new products and for ‘specials’. This will be assisted with calculations of loading and knowledge of suppliers’ product ranges. Hands-on aspects include building prototypes and photometric assessment. 
  • Project Design: Calculate the loading of bespoke systems of luminaires to fulfil the customer’s brief. As well as luminaires this frequently includes controls. The main deliverable is specification of the components needed and communication of the design.
  • Aftersales: Support internal and external stakeholders with technical advice. Determine whether responsibility for a fault lies inside or outside the organisation.

Essential capabilities:

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering HND/degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical manufacturing

Having the following credentials is advantageous however not essential:

  • 18th Edition Regulations
  • AutoCAD or similar
