The Role:
 
Reporting into the Lead Electronics Design Engineer, you will be tasked in assisting in the Electronic and Electrical design of all products. You will design, evaluate and test in accordance with the design procedures of the all new and redesigned portfolio, in line with the company’s new product development plan. You will self-manage your workload and report progress, to ensure projects are progressed in a timely and professional manner.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of efficient hardware solutions, from the initial concept, circuit design right through to test and production of new designs
  • Produce Schematic and wiring diagrams for new designs and design changes
  • Produce PCB designs, using the software, for new designs and design changes
  • Create BOM’s for new products and BOM changes when required
  • Ensure conformance to EMC Directive, RoHS and WEEE
  • Produce the necessary production files for manufacture of new designs and design changes
  • Contribute to the formulation and upkeep of the NPD
  • Attend the PDC meetings when required by the Product Innovation Manager and contribute to the agenda item
  • Complete design changes in a timely manner when delegated by the Product Innovation Manager
  • Seek out advice from Service & Calibration, Technical, Production, Fitting and Sales when producing new designs and design changes
  • Give technical support to Service & Calibration when required and to other areas of the business
  • Contribute and be an active member of the project teams

Stakeholder Management:

This Electronic Design Engineer role is integral to delivering the company NPD plan on time, and also to maintaining and developing the Innovation Teams function. Effective and regular communication is crucial. Throughout the design process, you will be engaging interfacing with the:
 

  • Innovation Team
  • Test Materials Team
  • Innovation Director
  • Project Team Leaders
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Service and Calibration


Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified or HND equivalent level of education in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Experience with PCB Design Package and PCB Design methodologies
  • Proven track record of both electronic & electrical design (intermediate level accepted)
