Job Description

Relevant Vacancy: Electronics Engineer

Location: Leeds (LS18)

Summary:

The Electronics Engineer will design, develop and test components, devices, systems and equipment for the hiring company. The Electronics Engineer may be involved at any stage of a project including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. There will also be a focus toward support of production.

Job Overview:

The hiring company is a small specialist electronics design and manufacture company, focused on motor-sport and industrial applications. This position of Electronics Engineer will report directly to the Company Director.

This role will be involved with existing product lines and new design work. Work with existing product lines will require tasks including supply chain management, continuous improvement, and testing.

Design work will either be to expand the companies live manufacturing portfolio or as design consultants on a range of projects. You will be using a range of electronic computer design software. You will create models and prototypes as well as handle calculations required to create manufacture specifications.

You will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy and need to be self-motivated. It is important to ensure all the companies electronics meet the highest standards of quality for our customers.

Being a small company there will also be, from time to time, the need to perform roles that do not fit within this job description. It is expected that any task is completed with the up most professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties:


* Identify and analyse the needs of customers and to create design specifications and work proposals.

* Work with colleagues to design new systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology.

* Simulate and test theoretical designs and create technical reports.

* Identify and recommend improvements to technical performance.

* Ensure that a product will work with devices developed by others, can be made again reliably, and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.

* Conduct system evaluations and make appropriate recommendations to modify designs or repair equipment as needed.

* Ensure safety regulations are met.

* Test and characterise production parts.

* Carry out project planning and prepare budgets.

* Supervise technicians, craftspeople and other colleagues.

* Inspect electronics to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.

* Lease with suppliers and help coordinate production.

Qualifications:

Educated to a minimum of degree level in Electronics Engineering or a closely related subject, ideally the candidate will have direct industrial experience of developing advanced electronics-based products, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to work in a dynamic environment.

* Ability to program in C# and use Visual Studio

* Embedded C deployed on a range of processor platforms and development environments as necessary

* Embedded data analysis techniques

Hardware:

* PCB and circuit design using Altium

* Assembly and testing
