Medical Device Test Engineer
Are you passionate about medical devices and eager to play a key role in their development? Do you want to contribute directly to the clinical performance of devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards in real-world settings? We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Device Test Engineer to join our client's team.

About the Role:
As a Medical Device Test Engineer, you will be at the heart of the device development process, designing, executing, and analysing tests that assess the performance of our medical devices. Your work will focus on evaluating how the device performs in clinical settings, ensuring it meets regulatory standards and delivers reliable results in real-world healthcare environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing test cases to assess device performance.
  • Writing comprehensive test protocols and reports.
  • Setting up test rigs and conducting both manual and Python-based tests.
  • Designing tests from a clinical engineering perspective to ensure they represent the device's clinical performance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the device meets regulatory and clinical standards.
  • Identifying potential issues, errors, and challenges that may arise in clinical use and testing for them accordingly.

This is a hands-on role, where you'll be actively involved in test execution, not software or mechanical design. You'll be focused on ensuring the device functions as expected within the clinical environment, looking at the device from a clinical and regulatory perspective.

What The Client is Looking For:

  • A strong background in biomedical, electronics, or computer science engineering, or similar degree
  • An interest in the clinical aspects of medical device development.
  • The ability to design, execute, and analyse tests that align with clinical performance criteria.
  • Experience or a keen interest in regulatory and clinical testing environments.
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically about device performance in real-world scenarios.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science or similar degree
  • Familiarity or interest in test rig setups, test case design, and data analysis.
  • Ability or interest to work with both manual testing and automated testing (e.g., using Python).
  • A passion for medical devices and a keen interest in their real-world application in healthcare settings.
