The role: A Leeds-based electronics company is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer for an initial 3 month contract to support the development of a DC-DC power converter. You'll work with a 4000V input and 1300V output system based on a flying capacitor multi-level inverter topology using silicon carbide. With much of the design phase complete, your focus will be on testing, validation, verification, and implementing design changes as required. A solid background in SMPS (Switchmode Power Supplies) and Power Electronics, plus hands-on experience with bench work, is essential for this role.

Skills Required:

  • Expertise in Power Electronics and SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supplies)
  • Proficiency in DC-DC
  • Hands-on experience with bench work
  • Strong understanding of gate resistor values, snubber circuits, and heat dissipation

Desirable Experience (not essential):

  • Experience with Altium for PCB design

Rate- up to £63 per hour - outside IR35Other information- Can work your hours in 4 days. Flexible start and finish times. You can work remote when the task work suits.Contract length- 3 months initially
