Parkinson Lee Executive Search are currently recruiting the role Interim Engineering Director.

The purpose of the role is to drive operational excellence by assessing and improving current processes. This role will lead change initiatives that enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and ultimately position the organisation for sustained growth. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices, optimise resource utilisation, and improve overall product quality and delivery to customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive review of existing operational processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute a strategic change plan to implement best practices across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing functions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the key stakeholders to assess the technical and commercial viability of inbound inquiries, providing robust data for effective order conversion.
  • Supply Chain Operations: Manage the plan to ensure lead time adherence.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in product testing, quality assurance, and health and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and motivate the operations team, fostering a high-performance culture and facilitating professional development.

Key Milestones:

  • Initial Assessment Completion; Conduct a comprehensive review of current operations and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Change Plan Development; Develop a detailed strategic change plan outlining objectives, resources, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Implementation of Programs; Roll out new processes and systems to support the change initiative in operational improvements and monitor progress against defined KPIs.
  • Assessment and Reporting Evaluate the overall impact of the changes and prepare a comprehensive report for stakeholders, outlining successes and areas for further improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within Oil  & Gas regulated product industry is a prerequisite.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, compliance structures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability in operational management and change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
