Technical Support Engineer (Hybrid Energy) | Leeds | Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, mainly office-based with occasional business visits | £28,000 - £45,000, depending on experience (Graduate/Experienced)

We are excited to invite applications for an engineer to join a newly formed hybrid energy development team of an established, leading name in the global energy production game. Our client prides themselves on producing quality energy equipment for a wide range of industries. As a manufacturer, they aim to design, produce and distribute energy equipment including power generation, hybrid energy, BESS, air compressors, and lighting towers. In addition, supports are also provided to their distributors which consists of pre-sale, in-sales and after-sales.

Please note-the role necessitates travel to meet with clients, visit other locations within the UK, with also the possibility to support clients worldwide (majority being in the Europe, North America, and Middle East areas)

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Undergraduate/Postgraduate
  • Electrical and electronic engineering background
  • Computing and programming knowledge
  • Technical background on BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and experience with hybrid energy products
  • Proven experience in maintenance or production of hybrid energy systems is viewed favourably
  • 2 years of experience in electrical and electronic engineering within the power generation industry is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and colleagues effectively
  • The ability to undertake multiple tasks with a minimum level of direct supervision
  • The ability to analyse and plan to account for any changes in the Market and be able to coherently convey such plans/analysis to the Sales Director and senior staff
  • A keen attention to detail to be able to action changes as and when they occur
  • The ability to work in a team, both within Technical and with other PowerLink departments
  • To have an affinity with technology to provide aftersales support regarding technical specifications of our products via telephone
  • The ideal candidate must have discipline when it comes to executing company policies and procedures

What will your role look like?

  • Assist in the ongoing development of tenders, including liaising with contractors and negotiating such contracts on a technical basis
  • Supports the sales team with technical questions
  • Provide technical consulting, support and provide solutions for existing and new clients and end users
  • Work with our service team to deliver pre/in/after-sales support
  • Ensure that clients are compliant with legal requirements, our own policies as well as with any government regulations
  • Prepare periodic reports, as well as improvement plans to be provided to management
  • Other duties assigned by managers from time to time
  • Assist in the development and introduction of the new hybrid energy line to B2B clients

Training & Development

  • An initial 4 week training program will be provided for the hybrid energy/BESS product families, both in the UK and at our clients HQ in China.

Interview Process
