  • Manage the Council's waste management PFI contract.
  • Transformation of several important areas within the service.
  • Ensure compliance with waste minimisation and recycling targets.
  • Act as the Nominated Responsible Officer for the Council's Transport Services Operator Licence.
  • Collaborate across the Council for sustainable environmental improvements.
  • Identify and leverage partnership opportunities.
  • Engage with Elected Members, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation in various partnerships.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of waste collection, recycling, and disposal.
  • Understanding of how to deliver operational services with the lowest environmental impact
  • Proficient in contract and relationship management including negotiation.
  • Excellent understanding of governance principles.
  • Proven leadership in environmental legislation and services.
  • Experience managing diverse teams in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of Operator Licence compliance.
