Location: You will be based at their Leeds office and production site.  

Salary: (Grade D2) £11.94 per hour (equivalent to basic £23,278.52 per annum)

The Role

Are you a Factory Operative looking for a challenge and an opportunity to advance your skills and your career in a great working environment?  They are looking for someone passionate to join their manufacturing business, to help them keep making a difference. The role is within the Operations Team, and the successful candidate will relish the diversity of collaborating with multiple internal teams!

They are seeking a highly motivated, organised and detail-oriented individual to join their growing team. You will perform a range of Operational activities on a three-week shift rotation covering 24 hours per day, 5 days per week (core hours 37.5 hours per week). 

You will have comprehensive knowledge of Extruded or Crystal Soap manufacturing/packing technologies and fault-finding abilities to support continuous production performance carried out in a safe, controlled, and efficient manner. The key deliverable of the role is to ensure delivery of the Weekly Production Plan across the Factory.

Key Responsibilities

To be successful in your role you will be required to competently complete a variety of core duties which will include the below.  These will be supplemented by other tasks deemed appropriate by your line manager:

  • Safe Working Practices & Duties: Responsible for the safe and efficient running of the equipment in your area. You must be an exemplar when it comes to Safe Working Practices (incl. PPE, Incident Reporting etc.). You must report any incidents immediately and support any investigations as appropriate - 30%
  • Manage Your Area: To manage the efficient operation of your work area and co-ordinate the priorities with your team when required. Liaise with Engineers and the Shift Managers when required to minimize downtime. Also, it is your responsibility to ensure an efficient and accurate handover is completed with the oncoming shift - 20%
  • Quality: Ensure all products meet quality specifications outlined in the BCS (Batch Sheets) and to manage any nonconforming product accordingly including updating SAGE - 20%
  • GMP Ownership Of Your Area: Responsible for the completion of the Weekly Clean Down/Start Up activities and working closely with Engineers to ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time. This also includes signing off with the Shift Manager and ensuring the completed documents are archived - 10%
  • Boardwalks: Supporting on the daily Boardwalk presentations and collecting items from the team for the 6 Weekly Crew Briefings - 10%
  • SOPs:  To ensure all work activities are covered by an SOP and to carry out training on shift with the team as required - 10%

Hours

Shift Pattern 3 shift rotation:

  • Week 1: 05.45 – 13.45
  • Week 2: 21.45 – 05.45
  • Week3: 13.45 – 21.45

Skills and Qualifications

  • You will have a minimum of 1 years manufacturing experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A Counterbalance Fork Lift Licence is desirable.
  • You will have the ability to identify and actively be involved in continuous improvement opportunities!
  • You have the desire and passion for finding creative solutions and long term solutions and partnerships between the company and their customers.
