We are currently assisting an ambitious independent broker on the outskirts of Leeds, who have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Account Handler due to significant growth.

A dynamic and forward thinking business, who are extremely client focused and pride themselves on their service levels - They are seeking someone that can support one of the Directors with the servicing and retention of some large, complex and interesting clients.

Role:

  • Processing new business, managing renewals, obtaining & negotiating quotes/terms
  • Solid negotiating skills with the ability to get the very best out of our panel of insurers
  • Being a key technical point and go to person for the rest of the team
  • Confidence and experience to deal with accounts paying from £20,000 to £300,000 GWP
  • Ensuring that all matters are recorded on Acturis and that all records are maintained accurately and compliantly
  • Being aware of market developments and to bring them to the attention of clients and colleagues, where appropriate
  • Carry out all business activity strictly within the rules and requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority and to be aware of and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory environment as it applies to your work

Experience:

  • You will have at least 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance
  • You will possess all around commercial knowledge, such as Property Owners, PI, Cyber & D&O and have handled premiums above £10,000 on a regular basis
  • A good understanding of insurer markets, with established Underwriter relationships desirable
  • You will be astute, confident and able to think outside the box
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Ideally be Cert CII qualified as a minimum
  • Experience with Acturis is desirable

In return there is a salary up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience and a benefits package which includes 26 days holiday, life assurance, pension contribution, support for professional qualifications, 2 days at home and free on-site parking at their easily accessed office south of Leeds.
