- To monitor the academy’s budget by tracking income and expenditure and advising leadership of the live budget position
- To operate and provide strategic guidance for all private income sources such as catering, out of hours, nursery, lettings
- Prepare financial reports, estimates and completion of financial returns as required
- Review month end schedules ahead of them being submitted to the management accountant team
- Meet regularly with the management accountant team to review monthly reporting
- To line manage finance staff within designated hub and oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function in line with the SLA
- To ensure that the academies handbook and Trusts financial regulations are complied with, and to report in a timely manner when they are not
- To ensure that year end processes are performed in a timely manner liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
- To set annual budgets with Headteacher/Principal and the Director of Finance
- Salary - £38,296 - £41,496 per annum

- SBM or Accountancy Qualification or equivalent experience in a Education Business environment
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and budgetary processes

- Experience of working within an educational setting
- Knowledge of basic financial procedures, policies and accounting code structures
