Axon Moore are working with a reputable ca. £50m turnover FMCG business in the Leeds area to appoint a Chief Financial Officer.This is a pivotal role helping to support the business as it enters a period of change. It is likely the business will be embarking on turnaround initiatives to ensure the business has a sound footing for the future.  The outlook for the business remains positive, however there are some challenging projects to undertake early on in the role.The role will include the following key duties and responsibilities:
  • Work closely with both Group CEO and board on the future financial strategy of the business
  • Carry out scenario analysis on a range of outcomes to enable effective decision making
  • Oversee all financial operations, including statutory reporting, accounts payable/receivable and management accounting
  • Ensure the year end processes and all statutory submissions are managed accordingly
  • Review and monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, landlords, auditors, and investors
  • Support other non-financial areas of the business such as operations, health and safety and HR
The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified Finance Leader with significant experience as an FD or CFO within a relevant industry, such as FMCG, Food, Distribution or Retail
  • Experience in a turnaround environment would be preferable and able to prioritise, manage risks and work at a fast pace
  • Able to help develop a strategic plan for the business longer term
  • Able to develop and nurture the finance team
