I'm working with an amazing growing organisation who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their Multi Academy Trust! This is a school-based position, so it's more than just a finance role as you will be hands-on in supporting the financial, administrative and operational aspects of school management - it is the ideal role for someone looking to step up or expand their experience!

The role will include:

Financial Management:

  • Manage orders, invoices, and payments using the Trust's finance software.
  • Address purchase order and invoice queries promptly.
    Ensure adherence to correct financial procedures.


Asset Management and Financial Compliance:

  • Maintain the asset register.
  • Establish appropriate filing systems for audits.
  • Manage the Petty Cash account.


Monthly Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Produce monthly management accounts.
  • Analyse actual versus budget.
  • Develop 5-year forecasts.


Staff Support and Compliance:

  • Provide financial advice to budget holders.
  • Monitor payroll reports and discrepancies.
  • Ensure staff compliance with financial regulations.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate policy reviews.
  • Oversee self-funding academy trips.
  • Collaborate on planned maintenance projects.
  • Manage employee records and sickness reporting.
  • Line manage the Finance Administrator.
  • Report on catering income and expenditure.
  • Oversee site management and health and safety.


They're ideally looking for someone with a finance background AAT qualified (or P/Q ACCA/CIMA) as a minimum with experience of working in a busy finance office. It's a full-time position all year round, and it's based on site in school, although there will be an opportunity to work more flexibly in the school holidays.
