Join our client, a leader in commercial activities, as the Finance Manager you will be based in their Leeds head office. This pivotal role involves developing their finance function to ensure that financial operations and reporting of key business activities are expertly managed. Initially you will have one direct report, but this will grow in time. The Opportunity:This is a significant role where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic and supportive team, contributing directly to our client mission of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. This is a newly created position, and they are open to looking at someone who is currently working as a Management Accountant who is looking for career progression and a step up into a Finance Manager role or alternately someone who is currently a Finance Manager who is looking for a role that offers progression and the opportunity to become a Financial Controller. This is a hands-on role so experience rolling your sleeves up and working in a fast-growing dynamic SME would be advantageous. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead on all aspects of our finance function, including the production of monthly financial reports and annual financial statements.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure financial robustness and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting continuous professional development.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and ensure alignment with company standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Study Support Provided 
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
  • Experience with financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently to agreed deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, with a strong commitment to completing activities.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prepared to travel to other sites at the start in order to learn the business
